Goodbye 2014...Hello 2015

I swear each year goes by quicker than the previous year, it doesn't seem that long ago I was writing a blog post all about 2013 and now a year later I'm writing a blog post on 2014.

2014 was a huge year for me, for many reasons, and I know 2015 is going to be even bigger. In 2015 I'll be turning 18 which to me is insane, I'll get getting a car, meeting my best friend (which I'll explain later) and hopefully a lot more exciting things will be happening.

The beginning of 2014 was a bit rocky for me, I was still in school and in January we had mock exams for the upcoming GCSE's and around that time it dawned on me how important the next few months were going to be for my future which for a 16 year old it was a tough thing to get my head around.

At this stage of the year I will still unsure on whether I wanted to do my A-Levels or whether I wanted to go to college and do a make up course. I was being told different things from different people, some were saying I should do A levels and some were saying to do the college course since that's the industry I want to go in. In my mind I was going back and forth between a college course in make up and A Levels and my main focus was that I didn't want to regret not doing my A Levels.

As you know, I ended up choosing to do the make up course at college where I now study Hair and Media Make Up Level 2, and in that aspect of my life, I couldn't be any happier. I love college, it's exactly what I want to do and it's amazing to be in a group of people who all have the same interests me and we all get along so well. In school I felt like the outcast because along with just one other girl, I was the only one who wasn't doing A levels, so I did feel like people were looking down on me and I did have the odd comment made about why I was bothering with going to a private school if all I wanted to do was go and do make up in college - looking back now I should have just told them to sod off. Choosing the make up course is definately one of the most life changing decisions of my life so far, one I am very happy with.I know if I stayed in at school doing my A levels I wouldn't be enjoying it as it's not the subject that interests me so I definitely made the right decision.

A very cold rainy day in October
In Febuary I took a step which is completely out of my comfort zone, I attended a 'meet up' in Manchester were a few of my friends which I had met over the interest due to similar interests in bands. These people I had met over twitter and instantly become close too. One friend being Ebonnie, me and Ebonnie met in February for the first time after speaking for a few months on twitter and facetimeing etc. On that day, I met so many people who I still speak to on a very regular basis. Ebonnie has remained one of my closest friends and we've done a lot together, including meeting The Vamps and going seeing One Direction on their stadium tour which was insane.

I had my GCSE's in May/June which at the time were terrifying since as I wasn't doing A levels, the results of my GCSE's were going to be the only main examinations that would be on my CV and with me my whole life. I ended up passing every GCSE except Biology but that doesn't matter. Once I finished my GCSE's we had prom which was such an amazing night and looking back I almost wished I treasured that night more as I haven't seen most of the people I went to school with since that night. Prom was so much fun, and definitely made me realize that I bloody hate floor length dresses and I suck at wearing heels!!

In 2014 I've become a lot more confident and definitely matured throughout the year, one of my fondest memories of this year was meeting one of my favourite bands a few times, The Vamps. I first met The Vamps back in March with Ebonnie, I then met Tristan and James again in April before then meeting them all again in October.

During around May this year I began speaking to a girl called Lisa on twitter again, and we instantly clicked and began speaking every day, facetiming as much as we could and now she is my best friend. Lisa's from Northern Ireland so unfortunately I've not yet met her in person but in February she's coming to stay at my house for a few days which I am so excited about and I literally can not wait!

In September I finally started college which like I mentioned earlier I love it, college is completely different to school. It's so much more relaxed and you're actually treated like 17/18 year olds not 12 year olds. My course is so much fun and as cringe as it sounds, I actually look forward to going each day.

Birthday message from Brad from The Vamps personally sent to me!
November came around and I turned 17, which the most exciting thing it meant I could now start learning how to drive which was such a cool experience. I'm still learning, I've passed my theory test and I have my practical test in just a few weeks, I can't wait to pass my test and have the freedom of a car and being able to drive where I want, when I want.

It's quite sad to see 2014 go, but I'm so excited to welcome in 2015, I know it's going to be one of the best years of my life and I can't wait!
